Youth Announcements - January 22nd

Hey everyone!

Check out our Epiphany artwork that the SR. EYC worked on.  Great job high schoolers!!

Thank you all so much for a great night at the Extension on Friday night.  We couldn't have done it with you all.  Mark your calendars for our next Extension date on March 15th.

Just a reminder there will be NO Sunday School this week due to the Annual Parish Meeting at 10am.  Everyone is encouraged to attend it instead.  We will still have JR. EYC at 5:00pm and will be making aprons for our pancake supper scheduled for February 12th.
  • SR. EYC will meet at 7pm on Wednesday (tomorrow) evening.  Dinner will be soup at 6:15pm for $5 if you would like me to sign you up for that.
  • Team Trivia Night is THIS Saturday night beginning with setup at 5:30pm and trivia running from 6-9pm.  Please plan on attending to help raise money for our youth mission trip to Washington, D.C. this summer.  If you can help, please be at the church by 5pm.
  • Youth Sunday is scheduled for February 3rd.  I am still in need of youth to serve as ushers, readers, and acolytes.  Please let me know if you would like to be involved in this service in some capacity.
Just a reminder that our spring youth confirmation class will be starting this Sunday January 27th at 4pm for all those in the 10th grade and above.  Working toward the sacramental right of confirmation, these classes will help youth to explore what they do and do not believe and why. We will engage topics in a lively manner striving for a deeper understanding of Christian community and personal Christian identity.

Peace,
Lauren

Diocesan Events:
  • New Beginnings (6-8th grades) February 15-17 at Camp Mikell.  New Beginnings is a weekend especially designed to respond to the issues, concerns, and needs of teenagers in middle school.  It was created to help young people grow in their love of themselves, of others, and of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The cost of the weekend is $100 and the deadline to apply is February 10. Interested in serving on the New Beginnings Team?  The deadline to apply is January 27.

  • Happpening (10-12th grades) February 22-24 at Camp Mikell.  Happening is not a new form of spirituality, nor is it another weekend retreat.  It is a personal encounter with the living Christ, as expressed in the tradition of the Episcopal Church.  Throughout the weekend, Happeners work and play, sing, share, pray and worship.  The cost for the weekend is $100 and the deadline to apply is February 10th.  For more info or to register for either of these events visit the youth bulletin board across from the nursery.
Volunteers Needed - Do you like to work with teenagers, teach, or maybe even play games while also learning about God in the process? Then we need you as a volunteer!! We are looking for youth mentors to assist at our EYC meetings on Sunday or Wednesday evenings (approximately 1 ½ hours) and Sunday School classes. Your assistance will have a lasting impact on the youth at St. Teresa’s. Please contact Lauren at the church office (770) 590.9040 or email lauren.wainwright@hotmail.com for more information or to sign up.
