Youth Sunday Success!!

We had a great Youth Sunday this past Sunday, May 6th and we also recognized all of our graduating seniors.  Congratulations to all!!

We are still in the process of renovating our 2 youth spaces.  This Sunday evening wear your painting clothes...we will finish painting the last 2 walls in the high school room.  Dinner will be provided. 

We are working the Men's Extension next Friday night May 18th.  Be on the lookout for an email with more details and a food list.

New Orleans Dinner & BINGO Night

Hey everyone,

This Friday night we will have a New Orleans Dinner at 6pm followed by BINGO beginning at 7pm.  If you can help at this event please be at the church by 5:30pm.  All proceeds from this event will go towards our youth mission trip to New Orleans this summer from July 16-22nd.  

This Sunday we are heading to the Kennesaw Mountain Park.  Please be at the church at 3:30pm or you can meet us at the park at 4pm.  We will be going on a hike and just hanging out.  Please bring a snack, water bottle, and wear comfortable shoes.  We will not have dinner.  We should return to the church by 6 or 6:30pm but we will call parents when we leave the park to let you know what time to meet us back at the church.

Hunger Walk & Other Upcoming Events

Hey everyone!

This Sunday is the HUNGER WALK.  A group of us will be leaving the church at 11:00am and heading to eat and then on to Turner Field in Atlanta for the walk.  If you want to join us, please be at the church no later than 11:00am...otherwise please meet us at the Episcopal Charities Foundation tent no later than 1:30pm for a group photo and to walk together.  Wear your red or green St. Teresa's t-shirt if you have one.

Next Friday March 16th is the Extension.  Please be on the lookout for an email with more details and ways you can volunteer.

Parent's Meeting March 25 - On Sunday evening March 25^th from 5-6pm at the church we will have a parent’s meeting to talk about youth ministry at St. Teresa’s.  Including upcoming events, current activities and ways you can help out.  The EYC will still meet this evening from 5-7pm.  Please make an effort to be at this meeting.  I really want to have everyone’s input on the future of our youth program.

This Week at St. Teresa's

Don't forget our Pancake Supper will be tomorrow night at the Red Rock Community Center.  We will begin cooking pancakes at 4pm.  Hope you can join us!!  All the money raised will go towards our youth mission trip to New Orleans this summer. 

 

This coming Wednesday, the 22nd, is Ash Wednesday. This is one of my favorite services of the year.  Here at St. Teresa's we will have services at 7am, noon, and 7pm.  I encourage you to attend one of these services, as they serve as a reminder that we are dust, and to dust we shall return. 

 

We will have EYC this Sunday February 26th.  We will be meeting at the church from 5-7pm for dinner, fellowship, and also to discuss "What is Lent?" and what we can do during this time to better ourselves and others.  We will follow up our discussion with some fun board games.

Pancake Supper

Each year we celebrate Shrove Tuesday also known as Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday.  Here at St. Teresa's we celebrate this holiday by having a pancake supper which we will do once again on February 21st at the Red Rock Community Center from 5:30pm-7:30pm.  The youth will be preparing this meal so you need to arrive as soon as possible after 4pm.  We will be selling tickets every Sunday after each service through February 19th.  Please let Lauren know your availability for selling tickets after the 9am and 11am services and for working the evening of the supper.  All proceeds will go towards the mission trip in July. 

Tickets are on sale for $5 a person or $15 for a family.

Reminders

We had 12 youth and 4 adults join us for bowling Sunday night.  It was awesome!!

Just a reminder we will not have Sunday School or EYC due to the MLK, Jr holiday. 

I am still in need of some peeps to sign up for our mission trip next summer.  We will be heading to New Orleans July 16-22 to work with Camp Rhino.  If you are interested please let me know.

EYC Bowling!!

Join us THIS Sunday night at the Brunswick Lanes Bowling Alley in Kennesaw near Town Center Mall.  We will meet at 5pm and pick up is at 7pm.  Please bring $10 to help cover the costs of food, shoes, and bowling.
